HOW TO GET OVER BROKEN FRIENDSHIP

1. NEVER THINK YOU’RE THE BAD FRIEND

Arguments that end with “friendship over” is definitely depressing. You often find yourself reminiscing that certain moment over and over, analyzing what you did wrong, and asking yourself what more you can do to make it right? But honestly, there is nothing more for you to do. 

You have apologized already. Apologising is an act that takes pride and shows great concern for that special friend. If not taken, it’s okay. You have your conscience cleared, now its time for you to move on and be happy.

2. LEARN THAT LIFE IS NOT OVER

Not to sound rude but, you have spent x years of your life without that friend and you’ll live more of your life without them. Yes, you had your special bond, but it was broken. No, i am not saying your friendship was fake, i’m saying it was shallow. True friendships don’t break easily, even in the most devastating storm.

3. BE BRAVE TO TAKE SECOND CHANCES 

There are situations where one adapts the fear of losing a friend thus leading  to a lifestyle of isolation. But allowing that fear to take over your life will only make things worse.

Not wanting friends mean that you are still indulged by the guilt of losing one. Learn to forgive yourself the same you learned how to forgive your lost friend. It is not easy but with time, it will. Remember that “No man is an island” hence, sooner or later you’ll have to need a friend or two.

4. ONE DOOR CLOSES; TWO DOORS OPEN

Friends are everywhere, you just have to search earnestly to find the real ones. Don’t let one experience shut you out, use it as a life lesson that sometimes people do come and go.

5. TREASURE THE MEMORY

From bestfriends to acquiantances. Accept the fact that you will never be like before. The outcome is indeed sad, but always remember that that person used to be your friend and your friendship made you who you are. Don’t let those memories haunt you negatively, instead treat it as a treasure that at some point in your life, you were friends, and possibly, someday again (though don’t count on it! Haha).

  2. I really find this post helpful especially the first point. This recently happened to me and the thought that I’m the bad friend just keeps on haunting (but I’m not saying that the other person is the bad friend) it’s just that sometimes things don’t work out for the both of you and that it would be the best thing for the both of you.
